Louann Carroll is chief executive officer of her own company, a poised public speaker, and the mother of three children. She speaks openly about her past and present. At a young age her father died, and she went on to survive an alcoholic mother, hearing loss, a teen pregnancy, the effects of the Vietnam War, and drug abuse. At 31 years of age, Louann awoke with a sever case of post-traumatic stress syndrome related to her childhood. Her subsequent plan of recovery included therapy through writing. Out of that therapy came Journeys, a story of a leaf who becomes detached from her tree. The point of Journeys is to bring hope and joy to those who fear the ultimate end of life.
