Bonnie Palmquist uses letters, diaries, and journal entries from Minnesota history as the basis for evocative poetry. It is sad, heartwarming, and always affecting. From the Seminole wars to World War II, her work transports the reader back to a time when life could be unbearably cruel and often tragic.

Bonnie Beatson Palmquist was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She received a BA degree from Metropolitan State University in 1997 and an MA degree from Hamline University in Saint Paul in 1990. Her mater's thesis chronicled the Christie family and immigration to the United States. She worked for 23 years as a manuscript cataloger for the Minnesota Historical Society before retiring in 1995.
