A trained geographer and former city planner in the Chicago metropolitan area, Richard Carter is an aviator, photographer, and poet whose intimate association with nature colors his every activity. Like earlier writer advocates Aldo Leopold and Loren Eiseley, his quiet, but urgent concern for and insights into nature are simple, yet sublimely stated.
Carolyn Kenney's artwork reflects a lifelong love of and involvement with art and the natural world. Her preferred subjects are the near and familiar-wild creatures, things, and places with which she has had a direct personal encounter. From exhibitions and graphics in Milwaukee's natural history and art museums, her career path has led to advertising art direction, a master's degree in business management, and, in 1986, forming a graphic design company. Her recent venture into nature illustrations has provided a joyful expression of her reconnection with the wild. She lives and works in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, with Ace the Wonder Cat, Founder/CEO of WonderCat Graphics.
